Withers Expands European Commercial Practice

Withers, the international law firm, has expanded its European Commercial practice with the appointment of Kenneth Mullen as a partner in its London office.

Mullen specialises in transactional intellectual property, technology and outsourcing, and his expertise also covers technology-sector regulation particularly data protection/freedom of information, e-commerce and competition law. He joins Withers from Shepherd and Wedderburn, where he was a partner in the media and technology team.

During his career, which also includes his having been a partner at Kemp Little, Mullen has worked with UK and international client in various industries including banking, pensions and financial services, healthcare/biotechnology, manufacturing, hotel, leisure, retail and charities in addition to software and e-commerce.

“We are glad to welcome Kenneth to Withers and believe that his blend of legal and commercial expertise will be a perfect fit for our growing IP and technology practice,” Adam Duthie, head of Withers’ Commercial Group in Europe said in a statement.

The appointment of Mullen follows the recent addition of Denis Petkovic, finance partner, to Withers’ London office and the recruitment of a six-strong corporate tax and litigation team from Eversheds Bianchini in Milan.
